WOMAD 2026

Festival goers at WOMAD

23-26 July
Neston Park, North Wiltshire

A firm fixture on our festival picks list, WOMAD returns after a year away with a beautiful new home at Neston Park. The world music festival brings together artists and performers from across the globe, alongside talks, art, wellbeing experiences and more than 200 free workshops led by international musicians and dancers. Families can head to the World of Children for a packed programme of creative activities, while the new setting offers plenty of green space to explore.

The inspirational Taste the World stage, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026, sees artists step away from the main stages to cook dishes that remind them of home, sharing musical memories, personal stories and live performances as they chop, sizzle and stir. This year’s programme travels from West and South Africa to South America, India, Ukraine, Portugal, Spain and South Korea, with appearances from artists including Freshlyground, Country Gongbang, Gisela João, K.O.G, Noura Mint Seymali and the Garifuna Collective.

Ballymully Cottage Farm, Limavady, Northern Ireland

Set on Ballymully Cottage Farm on the Causeway Coastal Route, Stendhal has earned the title of Ireland's Best Family Festival through sixteen years of grassroots dedication. Eight stages spread across fields and woodland and the programme stretches across family circus shows, funfair rides, comedy, folk, art installations and late-night sessions. The family camping field has its own dedicated car park, and regulars say the warmth of the community atmosphere is unlike any other festival.

The food traders at Stendhal are carefully curated, with all traders required to offer at least one family meal deal, one vegan, one vegetarian and one gluten-free option. Highlights include The Hatch gourmet burgers, The Big Blue Bus Pizzeria, a converted double-decker with indoor seating and a wood-fired oven, Foodpath Street Food's fresh flatbread shawarma and La Tia Juana's, serving Latin American arepas and empanadas.

Latitude 2026

Latitude Festival 2022

23-26 July
Henham Park, Suffolk

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, Latitude is the multi-arts festival that has made a genuine case for music, comedy, literature, theatre, dance and family programming as equal pillars rather than afterthoughts. Set on the Henham Park estate in Suffolk, with a lake at its heart and beautiful countryside all around, it is one of the most committed family festivals in the UK. The dedicated Family Campsite sits next to the Enchanted Garden activity area and has its own arena entrance, meaning the daily journey from tent to festival is short.

The Hot House, a curated collection of restaurants and food experiences is the main draw, while the range of independent street food traders across the site spans wood-fired pizza, globally-inspired plates and local Suffolk produce. The Family Campsite has its own dedicated food traders too, which means even the most exhausted parents never have to drag tired children far for feeding.

Wilderness Festival 2026

Wilderness Festival

30 July - 2 August
Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire

Spread across the lakes and ancient woodland of Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire, Wilderness wraps music, arts, wellbeing and chef-led banquet dining into a four-day experience that feels closer to a curated house party than a conventional festival. There is a dedicated Family Field teeming with sensory raves, family theatre, circus and clowning, a nanny service available to book in advance and wild swimming in a choice of two lakes.

The Long Table Banquets are held in woodland clearings and on riverbanks, consisting of multi-course feasts led by notable chefs. This year you’ll be salivating over dishes by Atul Kochhar, Mike Davies, Andi Oliver and Margot Henderson. In addition, the Chef's Table dinners and Fortnum & Mason picnic packages add further layers to a food programme that treats eating as an event in itself rather than mere festival fuel.

Camp Bestival 2026

Festival goers at Camp Bestival

30 July - 2 August
Lulworth Castle, East Lulworth, Dorset

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Lulworth Castle on Dorset's Jurassic Coast, Camp Bestival has won Best Family Festival at the UK Festival Awards six times, and looking around the Magic Meadow on any given afternoon, it is easy to understand why. The 2026 theme is the Seaside, with revellers encouraged to give their fancy-dress boxes a dusting off. More than 100 free children's activities run throughout the weekend, covering circus skills, bushcraft, den-building, tree climbing, archery and adventure challenges, while the Slomo wellbeing field offers a restorative corner of the site for parents.

The Feast Collective food area brings together a curated selection of street food traders and live-fire cooking, with Boca Loco's Fire Feasting Stage returning as a firm favourite. Whether you want a bowl of ramen after the main stage, flatbreads from a wood-fired oven or something quick between kids' activities, there’s something for everyone. The site runs entirely cashless, so link your wristband to a payment method before you arrive.

Affectionately known as Bella, it boasts a strong community spirit and a programme that features a strong music line-up alongside comedy, wrestling, poetry, film sing-alongs and whisky tastings. The dedicated Kids' Field offers free face painting, storytelling, crafts and puppet shows, and the family camping is among the most child-friendly on the festival circuit.

Just So Festival 2026

Just So Festival

21 - 23 August
Rode Hall, Cheshire

The grounds of Rode Hall Estate in Cheshire are transformed into a multi-layered world of circus, storytelling, music and free-roaming play, with dedicated zones for every age from babies upwards. There are no headline acts in the conventional sense; the festival is structured around experiences and places. Children can explore the Wild Woods, Peekaboo for babies and toddlers, Footlights for live music and dancing, Mind Palace for curious minds and Bumbly Boo for nonsensical fun. Adults are catered for thoughtfully, but the fundamental commitment is to children and to families who want to rediscover a screen-free weekend.

The campfire food culture makes things a little more magical. Just So does not have a chef-led programme, but communal cooking and gathering around fires at dusk is so deeply embedded in the festival's identity that it functions as one of its signature experiences. On-site traders include excellent wood-fired pizza, warming bowls and independent options that suit even the most particular young palate.

The Big Feastival 2026

Kids in a tent at The Big Feastival

28-30 August
Alex James's Farm, Kingham, Oxfordshire

Held on Blur bassist Alex James's working Cotswolds farm over the August bank holiday weekend, The Big Feastival is a proper full-family weekend, with kids' cookery classes, comedy, fairground fun and acres of countryside to explore. The food programming more than keeps up, with Michelin-starred chefs sharing equal billing with the music headliners. The street food market is meticulously curated, and the whole event radiates the cheerful feeling that good food and good music are, in the end, perfect partners.

The Big Kitchen stage functions as the culinary main stage, with chefs who would usually require a reservation months in advance cooking and talking in front of a festival crowd. The 2026 headliner is Simon Rogan of three-Michelin-starred L'Enclume, joined across the weekend by Anna Haugh, Emily English, Rachel Allen, Poppy O'Toole, Tom Barnes and many more.

Victorious Festival 2026

Victorious festival

28-30 August
Southsea Common, Portsmouth

Spread across Southsea Common with the Solent glittering behind it, Victorious is a unique urban family festival, winning Major Festival of the Year at the Live Awards in 2024 and deservedly so. The setting is genuinely extraordinary: a flat, easy-to-navigate seafront site with Southsea Castle, the beach and panoramic views of the Isle of Wight as its backdrop. The accessibility of Portsmouth makes it an excellent day-trip festival (if you can't face camping), and the enormous Kids' Arena runs character meet-and-greets, circus skills, theatre, arts and crafts and games from gates-open until early evening.

The food features locally-sourced traders alongside globally-inspired street food across the site, from fresh tacos and steaming noodle bowls to excellent fish and chips by the seafront. The Real Ale Village is a particular draw for adults, and the proximity of Portsmouth's own restaurants and food scene means that a family day at Victorious can extend naturally into a very good evening in the city.

2026 music highlights: Richard Ashcroft, The Black Keys, Kasabian

Book tickets to Victorious festival

Adult weekend camping ticket (13 years+): £249
Child ticket (ages five to 12): £40
Child ticket (four and under): £4
