Fowey Hall is rumoured to be the inspiration for Toad Hall in Kenneth Grahame's Wind in the Willows, and it’s easy to see why. The coastal manor is perched at the top of the hill, with sprawling grounds and plenty of rambling living rooms, libraries and fireplaces. The views over the mouth of the river Fowey are picture perfect from the front of the hotel, and sitting on the terrace watching the boats come and go is the perfect way to acclimatise to your new surroundings.
This is a family hotel so children have been considered every step of the way, making it feel a truly luxurious experience for everyone. The family rooms are as beautifully designed and stylish as the rest of the hotel, with an abundance of playful touches. There are two well-stocked games rooms, with retro style arcade machines, table tennis, pool and football tables, plus a beautiful cinema room with hundreds of DVD’s to choose from. There’s also a small pirate ship outside for the youngest visitors, plus two zip wires and a number of swings. The real highlight is the outdoor heated pool which is open from spring to autumn, as well as a scenic indoor pool with connected steam room and indoor hot tub, so there's plenty of water-based activities on offer regardless of the weather.

If you'd like to visit the spa in the designated adult-only times then Fowey Hall offers up to two hours of daily supervised childcare in the Ofsted-registered Four Bears den, where children are greeted warmly and there are a vast variety of activities on offer.
Food is well thought out with a traditional menu including locally-sourced steaks and seafood as well as plenty of classics, the service is warm and thoughtful to those dining with small and older children. Breakfast is a highlight with a freshly made pancakes, perfectly poached eggs and traditional Full English breakfasts made to order.
From the hotel you can wander 15 minutes down quiet, pretty streets to the beautiful Readymoney Cove, which has turquoise waters and a sandy bay, it's perfect for exploring rock pools, paddling or swimming and there's a wealth of other beach options just a short drive away.
